  Mais uma jovem banda nacional a estrear-se em termos de gravações. Os X-Cons formaram-se no inicio de 2005 no Porto e desde essa altura que tem vindo a evoluir no seu estilo marcadamente interventivo e social, como não podia deixar de ser no movimento em que se enquadram: punk/hardcore. Ainda em 2005, a sua demo de quatro temas, When Will They Fall? recebeu boas criticas e deixava antever uma estreia auspiciosa em formato longo. E foi o que aconteceu. Ainda há algumas arestas para limar, nomeadamente ao nível vocal porque, ao contrário dos seus pares, João Leite canta de verdade e não se limita a berrar. Ora assim torna-se mais difícil como se sabe. O grupo arrisca e bem neste segmento, apostando na diferença. E o que é certo é que Pride Of The Free é, sem dúvida, um dos melhores lançamentos do género neste ano.
  À sua atitude de revolta perante o sistema politico e social, o quinteto
  consegue adicionar uma melodia orelhuda em quase todos os temas. Os refrões são perfeitamente cantaroláveis, as letras perceptíveis, os leads de
  guitarra bem interessantes o que faz com que estes 10 temas sejam sérios
  candidatos a hinos.....

• X-Cons hail from the North of Portugal and their Punk-Hardcore seems to become one of the best offers of the genre. I dare to say that they might me within the top of the portuguese "scene".
  Their new album Pride of the Free is one of the most well done work I've listened in the last times. I'm not saying that it's a masterpiece, for me such thing does not exist, but it is awesome!!
  Talking about the music, what you're going to found is a in-your-face Punk-Hardcore, political-themed, straight critics to the world we live in, like Anti-Flag for example. We can found some similarities to older Punk bands like Pennywise or The Unseen.
  The riffs are really powerfull and so are the drums, the vocals an the choires make you wanna scream every word they spit out, this is what happens when you mix quality with passion and feeling! Are you gonna miss this?
